denotation and connotation

 

Denotation-there is a child who looks upset and it has a background which looks like somewhere around the world

Connotation-The connotations of this image shows a charity for water in the eastern hemisphere . The phrase "Dig toilets , Not graves " suggests this is a accessible charity for families across the world too have the opportunity and access fresh water. 

Analysis-The boy in the image looks upset because he may not have access to certain facilities as others around the world. The text in the top left corner "water-aid" can be referred to a charity that provides the facility of having fresh and clean water. The droplet of water may refer to the tears of people that have to work hard everyday to provide water for their families, the blue can link to the sadness these  children, babies and adults have to face without having clean and correct water facilities .

Denotation-there is a text on the wall "smash racism" and looks like the streets of Southall in the medieval era

connotation-The connotations of this image shows 
how racism was treated in the old days. The phrase "smash racism" suggests they wanted to forget about it and want to put a stop to racism . Cable St could be a road where racism was known for back in the days .


Analysis-This image could be showing the audience that the man looks angry and looks like this image was taken a while ago.
